A Lot To Be Thankful For

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

– Melody Beattie

This week was a special week of celebrating and remembering…

I’m thankful for:

1.  My girl friend got married!  She’s a sweet, special friend whose time has come :)

2.  My hubby’s love and dedication to me and our kids.  He took Sweetie to Chinese school and then the kids to the wedding, watched over them the whole time while I did bridesmaid stuff, which is no easy feat for most men.

3.  My week hiatus to explore my creative side that is rarely touched, which turned some confusion to clarity.  I got to work on several fun projects!  Here are 4 scrapbook pages of our family’s vacation in SLO.

4.  Clarity for me to connect deeply with who I am made to be, so I can encourage others to do the same.

5.  Time with Sweetie to do watercolor – we had so much fun!

Thank you my friends, for your kind encouraging words during this week.  I have missed you.  Glad to be back to share this rekindled journey with you.  I won’t always have this much art to share, but I’ll surely share more than I have in the past :)   For more to be thankful for, stop by Mama’s Little Chick.

So good that your friend got married, I’m still waiting for my best friend to get married! I practically have to nag and hint subtly every now and then :P

I love your scrapbook pages. Very colorful and fun! Photos are fantastic too.

I’m thankful for you! Just got your lovely card. What a nice surprise. It’s been crazy around here – daughter broke up with her boyfriend over (Canadian) Thanksgiving weekend, and yesterday found out she has strep throat. Boys have had friends here visiting, which I love, but makes for chaos too! To get your card honestly meant so much.

    Thanks!

I have fallen so behind in the blogosphere, Jinnia, but I certainly appreciate you taking the time to alway stop by and leave words of encouragement and affirmation on my posts. Attending weddings makes me remember my own and get all sentimental. It’s a nice boost to remember who you married and all of the “young” love that has evolved into so much more over the years. I have really been slacking off in the “marking stuff off of my to do list” department. I realize it’s because I don’t have clear goals written down where I’m reminded of them on a daily basis. Getting my “craft space” organized is one of them. I miss scrapbooking so much. I have everything I need and look forward to the day I can develop some of the hundreds of pics I have stored on my camera and computer and just sit and scrap for a few hours every week. I’ve been married for almost 15 years and I don’t think my hubs has ever had to care for our two kids on his own. Tell your hubby good job holding down the fort while you carried out your bridesmaid duties! I’ll bet your spending time painting with Sweetie really made her day! Have a great weekend

That is so much fun to paint with watercolors. Your husband sounds like such a dedicated husband and father! A true blessing Jinnia! Your scrapbook pages look beautiful! Scrapbooking has so much love and efort that goes into it. It is something your children will cherish. I hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Eastlyn! You leave such thoughtful comments and I always enjoy reading them. Scrapbooking is fun yet I still have to work myself up to doing it after years of not doing it. I hope you get to scrapbook sometime!

Thanks! It was a lot of fun to paint with watercolors again, just to remember parts of my own childhood doing that. Thanks for your encouragement!
