Hey there, a happy fresh Monday to you!  Our family took a nice rest on Saturday; then we had a couple of activities on Sunday.  My Hubby and I led the worship music for the last time this year then I’m off for a sabbatical.  My good good friend just graduated with a masters from seminary, so we went to her celebration dinner.  It was a lot of fun!

My kid brother and I met on Friday and recorded some cover songs for fun since he got a new mic.  Superb sound quality!  Then my kids and mom and I went on a nice walk – 40 minutes round-trip.

Sweetie (my daughter) taught me a warm-up song she’d learned in her after-school chorus class.  It was a very fitting song for what we did over the weekend with the people we love most.  Here are the partial lyrics:

I was passing by, my brother called to me

And he said to me, You’d better take time in life.

Better take time in life, better take time in life

Better take time in life, ’cause you got far a way to go

It was wonderful to take time in life to spend with the people I care about.  We enjoyed laughing and playing together.  It wasn’t always like this though.  We’d gone through a lot of stretching in the last few years to get here.

But it reminded me that anything or anyone worth having and loving is worth the time and effort it takes to work through the differences and struggles.

As I get acquainted with people in the blogging world, I want to take time in life to spend with my new followers and friends.  I appreciate all of you!

I recorded a video of myself talking to you (almost just as if I were talking with you in person!).  Do bear with me, I’m not all that comfortable in front of a camera but I thought it’d be a fun way to say, “I appreciate you!”  Here’s the video…

Here are the 4 from last Friday who answered my question, “What is the one thing you cannot live without?”

Mama Hen from Mama’s Little Chick

Barbie from My Freshly Brewed Life

Hannie from Musing of FM

Veronica Lee from Of Mice and Ramen

What about you?  What would you like to take time in life to appreciate?

Hey there Jinnia, thank you so much again for thinking so highly of my blog and my posts. I really appreciate it! I have to say that I love this post and the meaning behind it. We really do need to “take time” to appreciate the important things in our lives. For me it is my family. My daughter always comes first. It sounds like you really had a nice weekend and that you were taking the time to appreciate your family as well. Your video was great! It is always so nice to meet the person behind the blog. I know I have seen you once before on video, but it is nice. Thank you and have a wonderful night!

    Jinnia,
What a great post, and a great reminder to spend time with the people you love! The kids were at my parent's house for a few days and Mike and I had a great time together–riding bikes in Tahoe, going out to dinner, etc. It was really nice.
    Great video!

I'm so glad you and Mike had a great time together just the two of you! That's so nice to spend alone time with your hubby. I'm yearning for that with Bryan and we're planning a weekend for our upcoming anniversary :) Thanks for stopping by, Genny!

Sure thing, thanks for your nice comment :)

Absolutely, Mama Hen. You know I love what you're all about!

  • Mamaslittlechick

Jinnia you are always so supportive and encouraging in your wonderful comments. Thank you so much for that! I had been really bothered by that mom and had to right about it in my post today. I really do not understand people sometimes and find that they don't always carry the empathy or compassion I so hope to see in others. However, it is all about growing and learning I guess. Thank you for being so kind! Have a great day!

Thank you Jinnia, I've been wanting to put down my comment here, but something wrong with the network probably. so now.. let me jot down my thanks here. It feels so much different from hearing and seeing you in the video compare to just reading your blog! I feel so honor and so thankful for everything! Thanks for being such a sweetie.

You're welcome! I know it's different between writing and video. I wanted to make it more personal as I make nice friends on the internet. Do you prefer to be called Hannie or Fon Mee?

“But it reminded me that anything or anyone worth having and loving is worth the time and effort it takes to work through the differences and struggles.” – so very true!

As my boys go off to there Dad's for the month of July, leaving the home with the 3 of us for the majority of the month. I would like to take more time on my husband. We will be married for years on the 8th of July and our lives our so crazy with his, mine and ours (kids) that we just don't just be together.
