To my daughter
Thank you for putting away the BBQ party toys.
You’re a good kid.
To my son
Thank you for turning off the lights.
You’re a good kid.
To my hubby
It’s not the same without you around here.
It’s nice to hear your voice.
Observations
Today was the first day of Hubby being away at Las Vegas for his work. He’s stationed there for 2 weeks – coming back during the weekend in between – and I miss him already. It was a challenge with the kids not listening very well or following directions. I had to work hard to remember to compliment them, because what wanted to come out of my mouth (and did occasionally) was negative words. In fact, I found myself saying, “You’re not listening very well,” to them. Even though it was true, it didn’t help them to listen better. Lord help me.
