To my daughter

Thank you for listening.

Thank you for closing the door.

You’re so helpful – thank you for helping your brother find the ball under the couch.

To my son

Thank you for being polite.

Thank you for caring.  (for asking, “What happened Mommy?” when I said that my back hurt)

Cute kids.  Lovely kids.  Wonderful kids.

You kids are such good kids!

Thank you for cleaning up!  (toys)

To my hubby

It really is not the same without you here.

I really miss you.

Observations

The more I told the kids they are good kids, the more they soaked it in and wanted to do things for me.  Today they insisted they wanted to help me wash dishes.  When I asked them to put away their toys, they did.  They were a joy to be around!  We had a college gal over, and she said how cool it is that my daughter feels secure enough to tell me what she likes.
