Ok.  Day 2.

Today I was still feeling a little weak from the residual flu.  But I did my best to take care of things around the house.  Things were done slow-motion…

So by the time I normally make dinner, I was just finishing up washing the afternoon dishes.  Hubby called home; he was at the mall looking for a tool for work.  He was wondering if I needed him to pick any food up while he was at the mall.

Isn’t he wonderful?  He remembers I was not feeling well, and he asked to help me.  What a man!

Said I, “You are so kind to ask.  But I don’t want to spend more on outside food if I could help it.  I plan to make fried rice, just need to cut up the ingredients.”

He chuckled (because the ingredients are not cut up yet and it’s already 6 pm), and simply said, “Why don’t you start on the frozen veggies, I’ll come home now and help you cut up the stuff?”

“Ok thanks!  You’re so loving.”

Hubby arrived at the door, and I greet him with a glad tired smile and a hug.  “Thanks for being thoughtful about dinner.”

Right away he got to work.  He didn’t complain or anything.  He didn’t ask me to make any decisions.  He simply saw what needed to be done and did it.  I’m overjoyed just writing this!

After dinner, I said, “I really appreciate you taking over the dinner.”  It really means a lot to me that he saw what I needed and filled that need.  It’s special because my muscles and brain were too slow to communicate coherently.  I’m so thankful for my man.
