Day 5. What can I say? We are truly human. I must admit that today was hard. The kids woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something – they were probably testing me to see if these positive changes in Mommy are for real!
To my hubby
Thank you!!! You’re my hero! (for killing a BIG spider that invaded me in the bathroom)
Hello handsome!
You handled that well – and calmly. (for our son’s tantrum)
To the kids
You are good kids.
Thank you for listening.
To my daughter
Thank you for pointing that out. (She had said, “Um…Mommy? I think you’re driving too fast.”)
Observations
Both my hubby and I were tired today. The children tested us by being extra demanding of our time and attention, and we were physically and emotionally drained. One difference I did notice was that I made attempts to give them compliments even though I felt upset, whereas before I didn’t.
