To my daughter

Your hair is very pretty like that.

Thank you for setting the mats.  You’re so helpful.

You’re very helpful.  (for putting the laundry in the machine)

To my son

You’re so helpful.  (for turning off the night light when he woke up)

You are great kids.

To my hubby

You’re fast.  (with completing his work projects)

Thank you for listening and understanding.

Observations

I’ve been in a funk lately, but I believe that the positive words kept the family from going crazy with me.  In the past, when I didn’t feel good, it would be more difficult to not let it affect the rest of the family.  So I am determined to keep this up because not only is it a great gift of words, it establishes the atmosphere in the home.  Home is where the heart is.  Everything begins there.  So no matter how we feel, we can speak life and have it breathe into the deadness we feel sometimes.  “Life and death is in the power of the tongue.”

I agree with you Jinnia…and I plan to take that same advice…there was a day that I did not feel up to being “positve” and I let the hurriness of life get in my way…SO..I will try harder in my experiment even when I am feeling blue. The home is where the heart is and my best friend has always said, “The mother sets the tone for the home.” I totally agree. I notice a huge difference in my children the past few months that I have been postive with them. (I actually started this thing before my teacher told me so…lol) But…my husband, well that's a new thing!

It's definitely a challenge to do it when feeling blue. How's it going with your husband, by the way?
