“Eeyore’s friends can SEE the rain cloud, but they can’t FEEL the rain cloud.  That’s because it’s only raining on Eeyore.”

Sweetie said this a couple days ago.  She really surprised me, because it’s kind of deep when you think about it…

Your friends may see when you’re going through a rough patch, but they may not know exactly how you’re feeling while you’re going through it.

They may not be able to empathize with you, because they cannot see from your angle in life.  Maybe if they’ve been through something similar, they can understand better.

This is why we do well not to judge one another.  We only see a snippet into someone’s life, and that’s from our own angle.  We don’t know all the other pieces in their life that are so different from our own.

What a precious reminder from our daughter!  Who would have thought you could get something profound from Eeyore and a rain cloud?

I really love this and it's so true. Our best friends are in tune with us and understand even when they aren't experiencing the same thing at the same time. Your daughter is smart and insightful beyond her years!! Thanks for sharing that on a Monday.

We can learn a lot from the sweet WInnie the Pooh characters:) That was also a wise statement that your daughter made! I have have been in the boat when friends have failed to empathize with me and it hurts so bad…likewise, I'm sure I've failed others at times as well. It is a good reminder to never assume we know what is going on in someone's life! The best things we can do are love, pray and support those around us. Happy Monday to you Jinnia!

Jinnia, if we really listen to our children we can always learn something. Little Chick loves Pooh bear and many of the stories have great lessons! Judging others is something I believe none of us have a right to do. I think most people do enough judging of themselves and don't need others involved. As you said, no one can every really know what a person is feeling or what they have been through, so they should be there for them and not judge! Have a great day!

What a great lesson! It's so true that we can never understand what someone is going through because every experience is different for all of us. Our perception of a situation is based on our own life experiences and it's so important to refrain from passing judgement. Those Pooh characters are so wise!

Thanks, Alysia. Best friends are more understanding than most, for a reason :) I appreciate your comment! Have a great start of the week!

Great love-in-action items – pray and support! Especially as we're imperfect in our love, above all we have Perfect Love on our side. Happy Monday to you too Casey!

Yes, most people do judge themselves and doesn't that tend to spread to others. Like you said, we should be there for others and not judge! Loving these reminders to listen to our children and what they're learning. Most of the time, we learn right with them in more and different ways!

Great point to refrain from passing judgment, it's challenging sometimes. Those Pooh characters amaze me how much wisdom is hidden inside for us to explore. Have a great Monday, Kasey!

I think we can all use a little reminder of this. And what better then to come from a children's character, and to be reminded from a child. That's more of an eye opener at least for me.
Thanks for stopping by my place.

So much we can learn from our kids. I literally sat here just thinking of that comment. So profound. This happens all the time doesn't it. We know someone is struggling…we say, “what's going on with her? She's not herself.”. But we don't want to intrude to find out what's going on even when we see the rain cloud over them. It's like that illustration of an iceberg….you can only see the tip of it on top of the water but underneath it's HUGE! You just never know what's beneath the tip of the iceberg for people. Great reminder Jinnia!

Kimberly, I'm sitting here thinking of your comment. You brought it another notch deeper. When I see someone struggling, will I stuff my assumptions…and go and find out what's going on beneath the iceberg? And care for them? I want to do it for those who need and want it. Great comment!!

It's amazing how a child can remind me of things I think I already know. Definitely an eye opener in new ways.

Loved this, Jinnia! Thanks for the great reminder. And I love the comment by Kimberly… you never know what's beneath the tip of the iceberg.
