Every relationship that reaches a point of familiarity needs the extra nourishment of honor and respect. Sometimes a friend and I would talk, and we’d be quick to think we know where the other person is coming from. We cannot assume we know what the other person is really going through. We need to truly listen to each other. We need humility.
Humility happens to be a huge lesson my Hubby is working to teach the college students he works with at our church. Their relationships are marked with familiarity – the kind that gets used to seeing each other on the surface, but not really knowing each other beyond the surface. Oh, sometimes they’ll have moments of meaningful conversation which is awesome!
What does this have to do with Work At Home Wednesday? Every relationship that reaches a point of familiarity, whether it’s in life or in business, has the potential to grow into works of beauty and love. As business becomes more personal, it also becomes more profitable. So as we go about our daily life, how are we treating those we come into contact with?
And as we get to know good friends or business associates, how do we treat them as they become familiar to us?
