This morning I felt far from feeling grateful.  I knew it was just a funk, so I did some vacuuming which helped me appreciate clean fluffy carpet.  As I sat down to write this post, I thought what a blessing and privilege it is to give thanks this week for the following:

1.  My kids being super helpful.  Sweetie volunteered to help with Tuesday’s laundry day.  Her younger brother followed suit with loading clothes into the dryer.  Wednesday they both asked to fold the clothes!

2.  Hot weather with highs of 105! You must know I don’t enjoy hot weather too much, but it allowed us a chance to BBQ and eat dinner out on the patio, which our kids absolutely loved.  Never mind the flies and yellow jacket bee getting into our Korean Bulgogi beef.

3.  Hand washing clothes.  With the hot weather comes an opportunity to hang clothes outside and have them dry in a few hours.  What a special treat having them drip “rain” on the kids – it was real fun!

4.  Hubby’s perseverance.  He’s a trooper when it comes to working and his job.  I love his dedication to us and he’s also neat and tidy.

5.  Hubby’s t-shirt drawer.  You just gotta see it – it inspired me to redo mine and I ended up making room for another row of shirts!!

Head on over to Mama’s Little Chick to be inspired by others’ giving thanks!  Have a wonderful Thursday!

I like that you found the positive in such hot weather! I should try and do that too:) Also, I love air drying clothes:) I wish I could hang a long clothes line in our backyard and watch them whip around in the wind. It’s just peaceful to watch:). Glad the kids enjoyed it too!

Your right there is nothing better than a nice clean and organized house to make you appreciate your surroundings. Hope your feeling better and the funk has left the building

Hi, Jinnia-I was right where you are this week last week. Doesn’t Thanksgiving Thursday just lift your spirits? Good job with accepting your kids’ help with the laundry. I used to think it was “easier” to just do it myself, and now they still expect me to do it myself when I think they’re old enough to do it themselves! My mom installed a clothesline in her backyard (nka an “outdoor dryer”) and hasn’t used her electric dryer in months. Love that crisp air-dried linen” scent so many cleaning products try to emulate. Ditto to #4. Have a great day and enjoy your fluffy carpet! -E

Hey there Jinnia! I will link your post. We went to Six Flags again and were gone all day! This is a great list. I love the smell of hand washed clothes. Your husband sounds like such a great man and trooper! Have a good night my friend!

Having a clothes line whip around in your backyard is a nice imagery I haven’t thought of before. Now that you mentioned it, it does seem peaceful to watch :)

Ruth, I miss the sun whenever it rains for days – something about the sunshine that brightens things. Hope you have a great day in your part of the world :)

Yes it does, Eastlyn. Thanks for your encouraging words. I know what you mean by thinking it easier to do housework ourselves. That’s inspiring me for a blog post. It would be neat to dry clothes with clothesline like many people used to. My mom did that long ago but now she uses a dryer. Interesting how times change. We are surely enjoying our fluffy carpet! I hope you’re having a great day, I’m off to visit your site now!
