What is ‘Knowing Your Why’?

This term is introduced to new distributors in relationship marketing and is often emphasized during the first 90 days of a person’s business.  Why?  Because it is what is closest to a person’s heart, what matters most to them, that will drive them and motivate them to take action in the field.

Why do you want to be in business?  Are you looking for a way to supplement your family’s income?  Are you currently unemployed and looking for a way to keep cash flowing in instead of flowing out?  Do you want to pay down some debt?  These are short-term goals.

What about long-term goals?  Do you want to be able to work at home so you can spend more time with your kids?  Or create a community of like-minded people in business blessing the poor and accomplishing together what one person cannot do?  How about working hard for 3-5 years in a proven plan to ensure financial footing & market share in one of the fastest-growing companies today?

It’s awesome and to your advantage if you take the time to brainstorm these questions and develop YOUR reasons why you want to be in business.  Knowing your WHY will be a critical component in your foundation to relationship marketing success.  From that inner core of certainty and purpose your enthusiasm develops into the confident posture that draws people into your network and into your business.
