When a week goes by and you wonder what you’ve done, then it’s clear a time of reflection is in order.  It’s a sign that busyness has taken over, that solitude and peace are knocking on my door wanting to enter, that I’ve been too distracted to let them in.

Sure, I can still be thankful for what I have!  But I want to order my life, my priorities – to allow the best of what my God has intended for me here.  That is the way in which I can fully write engaged, from my heart to yours.

You may notice the style of this post on a fun Friday is somewhat subdued.  I’ve been caught up in the blogosphere – making new friends, having fun, being social.  All great things! Inside, I’m actually an introvert who loves time to herself to recharge.  I love to read, write, play music and let my soul catch up to my body.

I love the slow-paced lifestyle.  It’s fun to me. But somehow I’d allowed myself to go too fast.  I’d better slow down more.  Wanna join me?

Ever since our beach house vacation, I’ve been itching to slow down. How about this for starters? On our vacation, my hubby was plucking out the fruit from this – can you guess what fruit it is?

Have a great weekend, my friends! See you all Monday!

Ooo…that sounds good to deep fry them. Thanks for the idea!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

It has the durian smell, maybe it's from the same family? Thanks for the follow.

  • Eastlyn

No earthly idea what that fruit is! Looks interesting…I notice you're wearing rubber gloves to handle it–is it just messy or will it actually burn you like the fruit from fresh cashews? Thanks for the wind-down, Jinnia. I desperately needed it. Have a great weekend.

  • lolo

I have no clue! I have never seen it before!
Thanks for visiting my blog today.
    Loved your song,

LOL, I didn't either when I first saw it. The juice from it is extremely sticky, I think that's why my hubby's wearing rubber gloves. I'm glad you could wind-down with me, Eastlyn – esp. after stressful busy weeks. You too, have a great weekend.

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

LOL, neither have I before this. Thanks for your nice comment! Have a great weekend.

Hey Jinnia, I would love to have you be my first Phenomenal Blogger next week! :) Let me know if you would like to do it. If you have come by some great recipe bloggers, we could use some in the Nest! You have the voice of an angel! I wish I had stayed with my guitar lessons when I was younger. What a huge fruit that is! Wow! Have a great night!

Yeah, I think my mom used to call the fruit jackfruit or ugly fruit…not sure though!

    Following back! =)

A Jake Fruit, huh? I have never heard of that, and there doesn't seem to be much information online about it. It looks pretty neat.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I am following you back on GFC and Networked Blogs. Nice to meet you!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

I just read your comment again about fresh cashews. Really? The fruit from that will actually burn you? Never knew that.

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

Thanks, Haley! I really appreciate that!! I'll be looking forward to your Thanksgiving Thursday!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

LOL. You got it, it's jackfruit. Another gal said jake fruit which I think is another alternative spelling for it. Thanks for stopping by!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

Thanks Marissa! I've seen you around :) Glad to connect with you!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

Same here. Yes, it's jake fruit or jackfruit. I googled it and found some pictures online. Thanks for following me back, it's nice to meet you too!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

Me, Mama Hen? Wow, that's a great honor! I'd be happy to! Tell me if you have any guidelines you want me to follow, ok? I do have a post brewing called, “When Someone Believes In You…” It's an overview of what I'm about with links to other pages within my site. Hope that works! Thanks for your sweet compliments on my singing! I really do love it and should do it more often than I do! Hey Mama Hen, it's never too late to pick guitar up again if you still want to :)

    Hey Jinnia!

Thanks for dropping by earlier and glad you enjoyed this post! The fruit you showed is what we in Malaysia called “nangka” or “cempedak” (not sure whether it's the same or different meaning) or in English, jackfruit. Love the smell though not very fond of eating it. I prefer durians though :)

    Have a nice weekend!

    Hey:
Just wanna say that I completely agree with the need to slow down. Thanks for stopping by my blog. BTW, you have an amazing voice. Enjoy you weekend!

  • http://www.mommamaven.com Momma Maven

I totally agree, sometimes you have to pause and live in THIS moment, right now. I'm learning that through having my son because they grow so fast! Thanks for the follow, I'm following you too now!

  • http://www.bellebeanchicagodog.com/ Liz

I've never seen a fruit that looks like that on the outside or inside! And it looks like a lot of work to get the good stuff out!

I love that you can sing AND play guitar! So great!

No time to join you, I'm too busy!
I will admit though, your post was very relaxing, and just by the mere act of reading it i feel calmer. Believe me, that's not an easy feat for me.

Hi! Thanks for following me at The Amazing Mess!

Thanks for this post! It's always a good reminder to slow down and enjoy life! Thanks!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

The smell seems similar to durian, is it? Maybe not as strong of a smell? Hope you have a nice weekend too!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

Thanks E.! Isn't it hard to slow down, though? Sometimes I know I need to, but doing it is a challenge. Thanks for your nice compliment!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

Ah, living in the moment – wonderful reminder! Yes, they do grow so fast! Thanks for following back :)

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

LOL, great observation, it does take a lot of work to get that fruit out! Thanks so much for your compliment!

  • http://jinnialow.com Jinnia

Sandra, your comment made me chuckle, so cute. I'm glad you felt more relaxed from reading the post, what an awesome compliment :) Thanks, I appreciate it!
