Today my family and I couldn’t ask for a better place to be spending the weekend!

We’re in San Luis Obispo, beautiful “small” town on the Central Coast.  My husband and I went to college at Cal Poly and we absolutely love it there!

We’re here to speak to some of the college students.

The topic?

Relationships.  Living Out Loud in relationships, to be exact.

The theme is taken from Romans 1:16.

My dear husband and I are about to reveal the good, bad and ugly about each stage of our relationship.

And show how we “used” each stage to glorify God.

Interesting topic, huh?

I’m not sure about “using” each stage to glorify God.  It’s not a conscious effort on our part to be used by God.  I believe we do our part to soak in all the nutrients and knowledge we can get from His loving words to us.

From there we live and breathe and have our being.

Our relationships flow from that root system.

And that includes our marriage relationship.

One thing we do is share transparently.  People who get to know us well know we’re passionate for our God – they also know we’re human and have weaknesses.

We’re not afraid to share our weaknesses.  Most of the time.

I only say most of the time because when we share weaknesses, most people don’t know how to respond, or they step all over it.

It catches them off guard.  Which is understandable.

I believe God made us to share our weaknesses so other people will see how normal it is.  Then to benefit from seeing how we’re shaped and molded to be the most exceptional people we can be.

That’s to show the most exceptional being of all – God Himself.
