Hey there, hope you had a fun weekend!

Hubby and I had so much fun celebrating our 8th Anniversary!  Saturday was dinner and the musical Wicked, in the city.  Sunday was church on our own and another lunch date!  We talked up a storm and re-discovered the fun-loving goofiness in each of us.  How special that after 8 years of ups & downs, 2 kids and many transitions, we continue to pour out our hearts to each other and grow more and more in love…

In this post I wanna share a song called Pour Out My Heart.  In the 1st video, I demonstrate a 3/4 time guitar strum.  The 2nd video is a finger picking pattern using the same song.  This is also for my friend Joyce who’s learning guitar and doing very well!  Keep up the great work, Joyce – keep practicing ;-)

My apologies it’s a bit dark, hope you can still see the movements.

Which video do you like better for this song and why?

Do you enjoy pouring out your heart to those closest to you?

Congratulations on your anniversary! I’m asking to go see Wicked for my birthday in September, but it means a 4 hour drive to the big city and probably a stay-over.

So glad you and your hubby had the chance to re-connect.

Happy Anniversary! So glad you had a good time! The videos wouldn’t play correctly for me (probably this dinosaur computer) but I almost always prefer picking over strumming!

Happy Anniversary! You deserve the best and that song is lovely. In terms of which video seems brighter, I’d say the 2nd one.
    Best,

Thanks, Beth. I appreciate that! So you prefer finger picking more too…

Thank you, Eliz! Thanks for sharing your preference, it seems to be the choice so far. I hope you’re having a great night!

Congratulations on your 8th anniversary, Jinnia! I think the second “picking” version has a softer, more subtle sound to it. I think music is an excellent way to pour out your heart!

Thanks, Eastlyn! Most like the “picking” version too, thanks for your input.

My work week has been crazy but, one thing I wanted to do was get back into the blogging world to check out your videos:). I LOVE the second one…well, love them both to be honest but, something about the finger picking as opposed to strumming on that song just really resonated with me and lifted my spirits too! You have a beautiful voice Jinnia! Would you believe that I used to lead worship with my hubs for our college group for three years when we were in our early twenties. Neither of us are amazing but, no one else stepped up to the plate so we did our best to make it happen and to bring glory to God:). I’ll have to post a video of me playing someday…I get extremely nervous playing in front of people…almost a phobia for me. Sad huh. You have inspired me yet again:)

    Hi – me again!

I had time to listen to the guitar videos this time. I prefer the picking version. It sounds more mellow for that particular song.

You were so quick with your comment that I didn’t have a chance to post it yet!
    Thanks

I love them both Jinnia, but the second one is the one I love best! It is softer and as always you have the voice of an angel! Happy anniversary my friend! That show was super. I saw it in New York! Have a great night!

Hey Casey, thanks for checking in amidst your crazy work week! My week has been crazy too with my kids going back to school and I’m an emotional case. Thanks for your feedback on the videos – so glad the 2nd one lifted your spirits! That always encourages me in the Lord. That’s really cool you used to lead worship with your hubby for your college group! College is such a special time and season in life…my hubby and I used to rotate leading worship too with our college group :) Except we weren’t married back then. I understand about getting nervous playing in front of people. I definitely felt that way before. You know, if you or I ever travel in the vicinity of each other, I have a feeling we could jam together and just sing our hearts out to God :)
