It’s so good to stop and give thanks.  This week I’m thankful for expressions of gratitude from others.

1.  My hubby.  We had a date night last Saturday and talked about fun & serious things.  I’m grateful we can talk like that still, knowing we’re watching out for each others’ good.

2.  Sweetie, my daughter.  One day I was sad, and she asked, “Why are you sad, Mommy?”  I replied, “Because I wish I could be a better mommy to you.”  You know how she replied?  “You’re already a good mommy.”  And she gave me kleenex and a hug.

3.  Buddy, my son.  He was frustrated one day at me encouraging him to do things that were challenging for him.  He did it anyway with some protesting.  But the next day, he was happy as can be and when asked to do the same things, he did it happily!

4.  Safety for hubby.  He was traveling out of town for work this week and I’m grateful for God giving him travel mercies.

5.  Eliz over at Positive Kismet.  She wrote an awesome post incorporating gratitude into all kinds of things.  I’m grateful she mentioned me in her wonderfully-written piece!

6.  Mama Hen.  She’s going to feature me over at the new Mama’s Little Nestwork this coming Saturday!  If you haven’t visited yet, come see what’s brewing over there!  It’s an amazing network!

Hi, Jinnia-just logged on for the first time in a couple of days. Love to connect with people who are showing their gratitude. It helps me remember to be thankful for the little things in life. Aren't your daughter's words simply pure and precious? I'm from the school of thought that it's a parent's job to “push” (encourage may be a better word) their little ones to try new stuff or they might not ever think to do it on their own. Most of the time it's like your son-they're so proud of themselves that they willingly face the task the next time around. Believe your daughter-you're already a good mom (a bad mom wouldn't be worried about whether she was a good mom or not)! -EW

Hi Eastlyn, thanks for your kind words! I like your school of thought :) You might laugh if I told you what I “encouraged” my son to do. You spoke life to me when you said to believe my daughter that I'm already a good mom – thank you for blessing me!
