“Every good cook knows that a dull knife can be more dangerous than a sharp one.”

Kimber King, co-host of TRW Internet Show on www.therealwahms.com, goes on to say that a person can cut themselves with a dull knife more easily than with a sharp one.

Last Wednesday (May 5), Jodi Stott and Kimber King interviewed Dani Johnson – an internationally sought after speaker, best-selling author, success coach, financial and relationship marketing expert.  Dani is actually Jodi and Kimber’s coach; she’s helped to sharpen them, as iron sharpens iron.

Here are highlights from that interview:

In 2009, Dani and Hans were able to give $900,000 to kids who are in need – one of their biggest reasons for being in business for themselves.

According to Dun & Bradstreet, over 90% of businesses fail in the first 5 years because of a lack of knowledge and skill.  It’s important for people to increase their skill set where they don’t have to deal with frustration at the level that they deal with.

Anything worth having is worth working for.

Her marriage was a mess in the first couple months, but then she learned the skills to succeed in it.

She’s an avid skill set developer as well as willing to learn new skills from others, like hiring an expert for $1000/week to develop skills for her new radio show.

Top 3 skill sets to start in a home business.

1.  Learning.  Whatever you think you’re good at, you’ll never master.  If you think you’re good with people, you’ll never get better.  Many people haven’t learned a new thing for 20 years since they got out of college.

2.  Master the skills of prospecting.  Beautiful thing about a home business is you can learn and earn as you go.

3.  Master the skills of closing.

Duplication.  People are not duplicatable, but systems are.  She learned this from a man who was able to earn a lot and sustain his wealth – that’s the kind of person to learn from.  Major corporations outsource training so they can continue to grow their businesses.

On fear of failure.  She totally understands fears like, “Am I really cut out for this?” or “What if I’m bad at this?” or “What will my friends think of me?”  There’s a video she did about defeating fear, on her website at www.danijohnson.com.

You gotta feed your faith, starve your fear.

Everything boils down to focus.  Focus on what you want, instead of on what you don’t want.

On mobilizing a team.  In short, get out of their way.  Plug them into a system that mobilizes them.  The worse thing you can do is do their job for them.  Encourage them, and plug them into a system.

There’s so much more from the interview than I can write, so I encourage you to go listen to the interview here:
